Description
What can you expect from this book? When we look into books of hadith, we find that there are different gradings mentioned at the end which tell us if the hadith that we are reading is authentic or not. Or we hear lecturers saying that a hadith is weak and must not be used. What does it mean that the hadith is weak? Most of us only know two or three of those gradings, and if another term were to be placed there, we be left stumped while others might not even care. This calls for the need to equip ourselves and learn the basics so that we can confidently interact with the words of our beloved Messenger
There is an even higher need for us to learn this knowledge,
especially with the boom of fake news everywhere around us.
Everyday, social media and mobiles light up with unverified
and fake quotes attributed to the Messenger of Allah.
Some of these, if not checked and actually implemented
can destroy a person’s life both here and in the Hereafter.
The study of the Science of Hadith is often considered too
complicated for the average Muslim to understand. However,
that is not the case. While every science can get deep and
complex as one moves orward, getting a basic understanding
of it is comparatively simple. At the bare minimum, we must
familiarize ourselves with the famously used terminologies
and, more importantly, with the history of how these ahadith
reached us in the first place.
The methodology used in this book is intended to introduce
the reader to the different terminologies used in Hadīth
Sciences with examples that aid understanding: have taken
the liberty to restructure certain portions of the book and
have made a few extra additions to the text so that it can be
presented in a suitable manner to our readers.
